8. SANDS SAFESTAY

Sands Resorts Macao has launched Sands SafeStay, a comprehensive programme of cleanliness and disinfection measures that ensure the safety of guests throughout its integrated resorts from arrival in Macao through to check-in and check-out and departure, combatting the risk of the COVID-19 virus.
The Sands SafeStay initiative includes hundreds of individual measures to keep guests and staff safe and ensure their peace of mind while visiting, staying and working at The Venetian® Macao, The Parisian Macao, The Londoner® Macao and Sands® Macao. The strategy focuses on three key areas – sanitisation, prevention and contactless services, with protocols going far beyond the already rigorous hygiene programme in place. Working with the Macao government and Macao Health Bureau, and following World Health Organization guidelines, a comprehensive raft of precautions have been implemented.
  • Disinfection and deep cleaning – Steam disinfection is carried out in all hotel rooms daily and enhanced sanitisation at high-touchpoint areas. Toilets are sanitised with hospital grade disinfectants, and all public areas disinfected hourly.
  • Temperature screening at entrances – All entrances are equipped with thermal cameras. Security guards are deployed to ensure safety.
  • Staff protection – All staff are required to wear masks while on duty and conduct temperature screening before entering the workplace.
  • Social distancing – Dining tables are set at least one metre apart. Staff will guide guests to maintain a safe distance of at least one metre from each other in all crowded areas.
  • Free hand sanitiser – Sanitisers are offered to guests at selected areas.
  • Free hygiene kit – Hygiene kit with face mask and disinfectant wipes will be given to hotel and restaurant guests, providing them with additional care and protection.
  • Qualified management – A designated 'Sands Hygiene Manager' will be on the premises at all times to oversee and ensure the standard of precautionary measures.
  • Contactless and e-services – e-payment and e-ticketing are available at 650+ merchants. Express check-in, contactless food and beverage delivery service to rooms and digital magazines are available.
